Snyder's Instructional Design Theory to Guide the Creation of Online Learning Communities for Adults

I have been reviewing some recent literature for a paper I am writing, and I thought this article was particularly interesting:

Snyder, M. M. (2009). Instructional-design theory to guide the creation of online learning communities for adults. TechTrends, 53(1), 48-56.

It's available on ProQuest Central through the Hunt Library databases.

It focuses on the instructional strategies, rather than on the design process, which is unusual and needed.

Here's the theory model (click on each one for a larger view):

TedEd and Flipping Videos into Lessons

TedEd and Flipping Videos into Lessons

The Chronicle reported today that TedEd has created a tool for teachers and IDs to turn any YouTube video into a lesson by adding quizzes, open-ended questions and more. It measures participation and learner performance

.

Interesting response to TedEd (especially the comments): http://teachpaperless.blogspot.ca/2012/04/problem-with-ted-ed.html

Interesting finds from my 2012 Bb ECP Reviews

Similarly to the Q's Query doc for student issues, the BlendedSchools.net courses have a link on the course menu, hidden from students but available to instructors called "Report an Error". It takes them to a page that looks like this: http://blendedschools.net/Includes/curricuerror.html
